“Devin[im]ler – M o t i o n s”
May 7th – 30th, 2015
EKAV / Education, Culture and Research Foundation is hosting the solo exhibition “M o t i o n s” of İnci Ertuğ, in which she explores the concept of motions relying on the foundation of existence, between May 7th – 30th 2015.
Ertuğ’s previous work has been displayed in Cer Modern, Ankara. In her new display, Ertuğ portrays permeability as the essence of change, and arguably the genesis of social and spiritual pressures on an individual.
Combining materials in a holistic approach, the artist explores existence with the speed of movement and various interpretations of natural motion deploying a vast universe of harmony and chaos using colors.
In “Mirror of Time”, Ertuğ, continues collecting “fragments of time”, and calls us to “a state beyond time” between dreams and imagination, as well as the sun and the eye. Transforming the vitality of life into an impulse for creation, the artist reveals forms cultivated in time. The good fortune of the colors comes together on Ertuğ’s canvases in a vivid fashion.
The universe thrives on motion and is in perfect harmony without missing a beat. İnci Ertuğ overcomes the circle of experimentality with the help of interchange between imaginary and figurative concepts. In short, she is taking the art-lovers to a journey from microcosmos to macrocosmos.
