Mercan Dede: “Enchanted Wheels”

On its 25th anniversary, EKAV, is hosting the exhibition “Enchanted Wheels” of Mercan Dede who attracts masses with his original style and music. The artist’s third solo exhibition which will take place at Ekavart Gallery on 4 October – 5 November 2016 meets the art lovers.

Mercan Dede who is known with his musical identity more, opened his first personal exhibition “Army of Lovers” in 2011 at the Ekavart Gallery. Then, the exhibition Revolution/Revalation which was created with Carlito Dalceggio met more than sixty thousand art lovers at Borusan Music House. As well as international exhibitions, the artist won recognition with his second solo exhibition “Ancient Time Machine” in 2014 at Ekavart Gallery.

Artist who performed intensive study period of 1.5 years at his visual arts studio he founded in Montreal, with the exhibition “Enchanted Wheels” at this time invites us to another dimension with enchanted wheels which are mystical maps of life and beyond life.

Mercan Dede was inspired by the concept of transformation and movement when he was creating works for his new exhibition. These works of artist who simulates the transformation of the life, the alteration of people, rotation of the whirling dervishes, concepts such as karma to interconnected and interacted ‘enchanted wheel’ seem an exhibition which will be the most mysterious and surprises one so far.

The exhibition includes 22 mixed technique art work of the artist can be visited between 4 October - 5 November at the Ekavart Gallery.
