“How to Combine Contemporary Art with Traditional Home Décor”
Art Collecting Event on Tuesday, March 6th in Old Greenwich, CT
CT – It is often intimidating to mix different design styles to create the home oasis of your dreams.
On Tuesday, March 6th from 6:00pm – 8:00 pm, would-be collectors, experienced collectors, interior designers and anyone with a love for art are invited to Estate Treasures at 1381 East Putnam Avenue in Old Greenwich to gain ideas and insights about how to find the right Contemporary Art for a Traditional Home Decor. The discussion will be led by Lisa Cooper, owner of Elisa Contemporary Art, and Beth Harrington, senior vice president of Chilton & Chadwick.
“Finding the right art for your home can be very intimidating,” said Lisa Cooper, owner, Elisa Contemporary Art. “We’ll be sharing information about how different art elements work in different rooms. For example, in a living room area, you want a piece that starts a conversation and engages. That may mean brighter colors or stronger images”
The discussion will focus on three primary spaces – Living Room, Dining Room and Den.
Beth Harrington, an art advisor for private and corporate collectors on the Upper East Side of Manhattan for many years and now the senior vice president of Chilton & Chadwick, will join Lisa and speak to selecting the right artwork for a traditional home.
“Home owners with traditional taste in home décor will be pleased to learn that collecting contemporary art can be immensely enjoyable and incredibly rewarding”, said Harrington. With guidance from an art professional, collectors will be exposed to many wonderful options by superb artists. Variances in palette, medium and style will help inform the selection of artwork appropriate for the different ambience in each living space.”
Wine and cheese will be served and guests are invited to browse the art exhibit featuring local and international artists before and after the presentation.
The event is open to the public, but reservations are required as there is limited space. To RSVP, email Lisa@ElisaArt.com.
