Etherton Gallery is pleased to collaborate with the Tucson Botanical Gardens to bring Kate Breakey’s mixed media photographs to the Gardens’ Legacy Gallery in a new exhibition, Kate Breakey: Trees. The show opens October 1, 2018 and runs through January 13, 2019. An Artist Reception will be held 6-8pm, Friday, October 26, 2018.
Breakey, who got her start elevating the lives of tiny creatures in large-scale, hand-colored photographs, has been a tree stalker her entire life. From Breakey’s roots in rural Southern Australia to the lush Sonoran Desert she has called home for the last 17 years, Breakey has photographed trees all over the world. The show highlights the hand-coloring work, which has earned her an international reputation. The hand-colored photographs of trees from her world-wide travels warm the walls of the newest garden gallery through January 13, 2019.
