We invite you to join Fabrik Projects for the opening reception of Duality and Perception, including two solo photography exhibitions: Conditions of Light by Cia Foreman and Full Time by Christopher Sheils.
Duality and Perception March 17 - April 28, 2018 Opening reception March 24, 2018, 6-8pm
Cia Foreman Conditions of Light
Cia Foreman explores the threshold between two worlds, investigating the liminal space between perceived reality and the dimensions of imagination. Her photographs represent an inquiry into the ways in which ambiguity affects perception, disrupts the search for the familiar, and intimates the presence of that which we cannot see. In Foreman’s words, “playing at the edge of two worlds has always fascinated me. I’ve loved stories about entering other worlds, stories that transcend the everyday.”
Christopher Sheils Full Time
Christopher Sheils creates photographs blending two or more images, designed to push limitations of visual perception. The brain's response when confronted with two possible realities is to either fluctuate between realities or merge the realities into a plausible unreality. Thematically, the images reflect a broader view of our society, indicative of the ways in which perception constructs lived reality and the notion that each person’s “reality” is in fact one’s individual impression.
Duality and Perception will be on view March 17 - April 28, 2018.
