Some places can lose their static nature to become mental spaces, sometimes they show themselves and sometimes they don't. They increase the union of determinate and indeterminate things. Annie Ratti changes Volume!’s location into a place for our souls, inviting the viewers to live a private, intimate experience. A long wooden bridge brings the viewer to the last room, in which there is a big light-box. The light-box shows the image of an old box floating in the sea and, on the ground, you can see the words “I love you” on a blanket of salt. The light of this image illuminates clearly the place. The silence and quietness of this view invites people to have a reflection and an imaginative experience. The viewers can interpret in infinitive ways this work, due to their personal suggestions, thoughts and memories. Annie Ratti utilizes different art techniques such as videos, photography, literature, creation of objects and places related with the body. She combines ethics and aesthetic, reflecting on perception and social aspects.
