Cristobal Gabarron is the only western artist selected for the Public Art program of Art Beijing. Art Park features, for the fist time in Beijing, three pieces of the Mysteries of Columbus series. This series has been shown internationally as public art in Columbus Circle and Broadway in New York, At Paseo the Prado, in Madrid, China Art Museum in Shanghai, or Artzuid in Amsterdam, to name a few of the international public art programs.
The year 2016 marks the 11th edition of Art Beijing as a local premier large-scale art fair. Around 160 selected exhibitors not only from the mainland of China but also United States, Mexico, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Russia, Ukraine, Japan, South Korean, North Korea, Singapore, Thailand, India, Indonesia, Taiwan and Hong Kong participate in Art Beijing 2016, which is of a higher overall quality as an effort to turn Art Beijing into one of the most important art fair throughout Asia.
Art Beijing 2016 will cover a total show area of over 25,000 square meters, again made up of four sections, namely, the Contemporary Pavilion, the Classic Pavilion, the Design Pavilion, and the Art Park as a public art area joining the three pavilions together. All of the sections will showcase richer contents to be presented in a variety of interesting ways to continue the collectors' and audience's expectations. The show period will be May 1 to May 3, with April 30 for a VIP preview.
