Galeria BAT alberto cornejo begins the season celebrating 30 years of existence, since its’ inauguration on October,1986.
On the occasion of this great event, it has been scheduled for the 2016-2017 season an interesting series of exhibitions called "Dialogos", based on double exhibition proposals, trying to establish links between the work of the artists that go beyond the formal and aesthetics, the relationship apparently seen at first. So it opens this cycle with double exposure,
"Realidad forjada" & "Perspectiva descriptiva”, by Carlos Albert and Pepe Puntas," respectively.
They are obvious contrasts between the work of both, and yet there is a logical connection reaching a dialogue between the two of them. On the one hand Carlos Albert Carlos Albert Carlos Albert, in whose work there is already a material duality between wrought iron and rusted steel, tends to solve geometric bodies and play with the void.
Pepe Puntas Pepe Puntas, makes satirical compositions creating different scenes within the same pictorial space, or subtle geometric games. The duality of his work lies in the intense contrasts between blacks and whites, which include spot coloured notes.
CARLOS ALBERT, Madrid, 1978. CARLOS ALBERT, Madrid, 1978.
Graduated in Fine Arts at Universidad Complutense of Madrid, where he gradually guided his creativity towards
sculpture and discovered the expressive possibilities it offered through experimentation with different materials. He was awarded by the Camberwel College of Arts in London, where he attended an academic year. This gave him the chance to approach the work of artists like Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth, whose knowledge marked a major
step on his work, and so did other Spanish sculptors, highlighting Jorge Oteiza, Eduardo Chillida and Martin Chirino.
Iron and steel are its main means of expression, the materials that feels more comfortable working. Theplasticity and aesthetic properties of it seems to better suit the expressive needs of the artist. He physically manipulates and uses
tools, as well as the action of fire and over time give the final touch to his works, which acquire a unique personality.
"Carlos Albert, the sculpture thought." "Albert is synonymous with sculpture. His irons arms try to grab the space and
silence. Hands appendages that surround the air drawing a network of structures that articulate a clear and transparent expressive language. It is the same with iron, that incorporates the corporeality of his dreams on paper, with traced sensations that use an unmistakable gesture rite. A hug uncontained heat that fills the field that he oughts’ to define".

Throughout his long career he has received several grants and awards from prestigious institutions. Today, his work is exposed in many public and private collections.
