More about the artist: Born in 1971 Ricardo Fernández Ortega showed artistic skills from a very young age growing up in his hometown of Durango, Mexico. Later on, Fernández partially attended Visual Arts at the Sculpture and Crafts Painting School of the Juarez University in the State of Durango. Ricardo Fernandez is a Mexican surrealist painter who fuses a classic style with modern painting. Fernández positions the female figure in imaginary spaces, provoking a dialogue about the erotic, intimate and domestic aspects of women’s roles in society. The preferred medium of Fernández Ortega is oil on canvas. Fernández Ortega has so far exhibited his works individually on thirteen occasions and painted several portraits of Mexican Supreme Court Justices.
