Galería de las Misiones is pleased to announce the exhibition "Lincoln Presno: works from the 70's and 80´s". The show will feature more than 15 artworks, including large format paintings, of Lincoln Presno one of the most important geometric artists in the Rio de la Plata.
Presno has been very well known as co-founder of the artistic movement "Grupo de los 8" and for his works in public spaces including the gigantic sculpture hommage to John F. Kennedy in the Argentinian Pampa.
According to Dr. Rafael Squirru "Presno's plastic works are characterized by their sobriety, their formal synthesis and their radical lack of any ingredient that could be regarded as superfluous. Presno could be described as a categorical person, an artist that the North-Americans would consider "hard-edged", a sensitive nature that does not fear definitions..."
Galería de las Misiones is an art gallery working the Latin American historical avant garde with a focus on constructivism and geometrical abstraction. It has two exhibition spaces one in the old city of Montevideo and the other in José Ignacio (Punta del Este).
