REVIVAL OF REMNANTS – 13 Sept 2016
Dear friends of GALERIAKALO,
This 16th exhibition in our gallery is another file in the folder of its history as a new art spot and promoter. It is also part of the history of all galleries that are creating through their activities promoting art and creating bridges between art and people. Like us, other private galleries and public institutions and also some universities are actively organizing exhibitions, thus trying to attract peoples’ attention to the beauty, fantasy of creativity often missing due to other priorities life is suggesting in this changing world.
This exhibition is quite unique as it tells us through art how remains, remnants can be dealt with. It is easy to throw them away, but if we think twice, they can still have values. So the artists we promote today were so kind to open our minds and see what can you do with residues of metal. It was hard for many of us here to imagine they would give such an aesthetic pleasure. From ugly and rusty pieces of metal we see now nice human bodies and faces, birds and animals.
These exhibitions are not a protest against pollution and polluters of environment, but somehow contribute to the increase of awareness on how existing leftovers can be dealt with. What Koko, Lekgegaj, Hasko Bezo, Bekteshi, and Demiri display today here inspires us and our children to think twice before throwing away plastics, metals, spare parts and other things we consider useless. Many artists around us are capable and ready to give them value.
