galerie 1 0 3 is taking off from Kauai`s South Shore to the South Eastern art mecca of Miami Beach. From December 1st to December 6th, the gallery will set up camp at Miami Project during Miami Art Week/Art Basel Miami Beach 2015.
A highlight of the Tom Lieber solo-presentation by galerie 103 is the debut of Lieber's sculpture project, begun in 1989, underwritten by prominent Miami art patron Martin Z. Margulies.
Cast at Artworks Foundry in Berkeley California, this work, just completed after years of development, is a three-dimensional expression of Lieber's most recent visual vocabulary.
Tom Lieber is an abstract painter and printmaker. Lieber’s large-scale abstractions are notable for their bold, natural colors and fluid marks placed against a layered, neutral background.
A recipient of the National Endowment of the Arts Grant, Lieber has exhibited extensively since 1974. His works are included in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York City; the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles; and the Tate Gallery, London.
This is the third international art scene appearance for galerie 1 0 3.
