Galerie Allen from Paris, invited to participate in Gallery Weekend Mexico City, is pleased to organise a group exhibition including 3 French contemporary artists Boris Achour, Laëtitia Badaut Haussmann and Maxime Rossi. Presenting video, sculpture and posters made of silk, this exhibition will focus on interruptions in three different types of space – public space, personal/domestic space and astrological space.
Boris Achour’s (born in Marseille in 1966) video titled Actions Peu from 1995 depicts the artist disrupting the public domain. By making small and curious architectural interventions in the streets of Paris, Achour reconfigures the civic environment by visually and physically diverting the inhabitants of the city.
Laëtitia Badaut Haussmann’s (born in Paris in 1980) posters printed on silk oscillate between wearable art and functioning advertising that promote attendance at ephemeral events.
While Maxime Rossi’s (born in Paris in 1980) film Real Estate Astrology rewrites history in 3-Dimensional space by repairing the errors in Max Ernst’s Astrological chart as the anaglyphic camera accesses the long lost dwelling of Ernst and his Surrealist wife Dorothea Tanning in Sedona Arizona.
