Galerie Andrea Caratsch, St. Moritz is participating for the first time at WoPArt 2017 in Lugano with a selection of works on paper and photographs by the gallery’s artists. Highlights will include an important work by Alighiero Boetti, a selection of master drawings by the American artist George Condo and some drawings by Wolfgang Laib.
An important section of the booth will be dedicated to women artists whom the gallery has been supporting for many years, such as Madeleine Berkhemer, Anh Duongh, Pamela Rosenkrantz and Betty Tompkins. In contrast to this, a very different and antagonizing approach to the representation of woman is offered by a selection of photographs by Helmut Newton and David Lachapelle.
Galerie Andrea Caratsch was founded in 2006 in Zurich. Its principal focus is the representation of an international group of contemporary artists. The gallery also specializes in the sale of important works by 20th-century modern and contemporary masters. We mount several monographic exhibitions per year devoted to living artists and one or two devoted to modern or contemporary masters which serve as historical antecedents for the gallery's contemporary program. In 2010, the gallery opened its new current premises in St. Moritz.
