Galerie Charlot's booth explores two different visions of nature by two media artists. Antoine Schmitt's artworks of the Cascades series are finely crafted compositions, which explore the dialogue between changing nature of reality and the rational impression of human beings.
Galerie Charlot was created by Valérie HassonBenillouche in 2010 in order to promote innovative contemporary art practices. Valentina Peri joined the gallery in 2011 and she is currently the associate director. Particularly sensitive to emerging art forms, Galerie Charlot focuses on the relation between art, technology and science. Artists represented by the gallery includes Eduardo Kac, whose last performance in space thanks to astronaut Thomas Pesquet was featured in 2 pages of the New York Times and Art Press; Jacques Perconte’s work and a focus on the gallery was featured in Le Monde; Laurent Mignonneau & Christa Sommerer who are internationally known as pioneers in interactive art and are part of a big group show "Artists and Robots" at Grand Palais in Paris (2018), together with Manfred Mohr. Electronic Superhighways in London (Whitechapel 2016) has been an important exhibitionmilestone for the recognition of the artists of the gallery.In May 2015 Galerie Charlot opened a second space in Tel AvivYafo, Israel, where she collaborates with other local galleries (Inga and RawArt gallery).The gallery has recently started to organise artistic residency for young artists : the first was Ashley Wick, from USA.Art Paris Art Fair 2014 to 2018, Moving Image 2017, Slick Paris 2013 to 2016.
