Galerie Crone is pleased to present this solo exhibition of Peter Miller. He lives and works since 2006 in Cologne, Vienna and Paris. This year he is participaiting at the 57th International Art Exhibition - La Biennale di Venezia (curated by Christine Macel).
Peter Miller is a photographer, and yet he is not. Rather, he deals with photochemical processes, experimental use of light sources and not least the mechanisms in developing photo prints. Who draws the conclusion that Miller creates his work mainly in the darkroom and limits its development process to the photo lab, is mistaken. On the contrary he brings his environment to the laboratory and the laboratory is being expanded into the outer space. Peter Miller focuses on formal, technical and illusionist aspects of photography. Since 2006 Miller lives and works in Cologne, Vienna and Paris. He received his MFA from the Art Institute of Chicago and has obtained diverse awards. The artist‘s works are in numerous private and public collections such as the Centre Pompidou, Paris, France; the Innogy Stiftung, Essen, Germany; and the FRAC Midi-Pyrénées, France. This year Peter Miller is participating at the 57th International Art Exhibition - La Biennale di Venezia (curated by Christine Macel). Furthermore his films and photographic works are presented at this year‘s Biennale für aktuelle Fotografie, Mannheim, the Berlinale, Berlin and the Viennale, Vienna. Prior to this, his work was shown at the Palais de Tokyo, Paris, the Centre Pompidou, Paris, the New Museum, New York and the lm festivals of Edinburg and Oberhausen, to name only a few. At Paris Photo 2017, we give a brief overview of Millers extensive photographical work in a solo booth. Peter Miller is represented by Galerie Crone, Berlin and Vienna.
