Galerie d'Orsay is excited to exhibit works from two of Buist's newest series: The Pace of Nature and Gold Series. As a painter of abstract landscapes, Buist is searching for ways to capture and transform the beauty of nature into forms and colors on canvases to elicit emotions of great joy and serenity. Inspired by poets such as Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau, Buist celebrates the magnificent creativity found in nature and intrinsic in the poetry of the woods. Through their theories of the Transcendental movements, she pays tribute to their spirit of adventure and their deep connection to the land. Praised by the New York Times for her "powerful and successful" paintings, her paintings are at once tranquil and invigorating, a wonder to behold and collect.
An internationally acclaimed figure in the art world, Natasha Zupan displays her work annually throughout Europe, Asia and the United States. Zupan embraces rich, saturated brushstrokes to play on light and shadow. She balances the modern and the classic through her juxtaposition between palettes and subject matter. Art critic and author Felipe Hernandez presents the idea that "the quality of her work comes from a natural intuition of the processes of metamorphosis." Zupan's artwork is included in some of the world's most prominent collections including the Sackler Collection and Swarovski Collection.
