Aurelien GRUDZIEN & Mathias SOUVERBIE exhibit at the Arena de Montpellier for a first duo show of concrete. This unusual medium is used combined with pigments and laque to create vivid and bright paintings and to build trendly sculptures with references to the past era.
Aurelien GRUDZIEN and Mathias SOUVERBIE, two Young French artists are developing a new way to express their Art.
Aurelien no longer uses the canvas for his paintings. Cement is the answer to his quest. The paint flows through the cracks left by the concrete like so many small getaways during a trip in a revisited nature. The resin fixes the picture as a photo would immortalize an instant of life. Take a deep breath, the work is mature and brings the fullness.
Mathias after experiencing the molding process has developed a personal way to create concrete sculptures. His sculptures are unique pieces. The light effects on the concrete as if its creations were made alive. His work is inspired by the balance of forms, substances and places. Some of his new creations for this fair borrow his memories of ancient Egypt. Between Shadow and light, between power and reflection, this artist traces a new path for sculpture.
