Joachim Bandau - radikal

The show presents samples of Joachim Bandau's works from the last 40 years, showing his radical discourse with sculpture and (watercolor) painting.
Eight heavy wagons, covered by lead plates, are filling the upper left room. Their arrangement makes them appear like being pulled towards the door as if by magic. The wagons form couples which belong to the group of mobile sculptures within the oevre of Joachim Bandau. They have been presented in public only once since their formation in 1992.
In contrast to the heaviness, the second room displays lacquer works and black watercolors, which seem to be light as a feather. For the first time Joachim Bandau also shows landscapes in watercolors.
