SPACES is the third joint exhibition by Jenny Forster and Jeremy Holmes, after AXIOME (2012) and ATMOSPHERE (2014).
Jenny Forster presents her newest series "Spiegel" ("mirrors"), which are all mixed media on paper on wood. Jeremy Holmes shows his works of shaped white ash wood.
The paintings by Jenny Forster (* 1979 Landshut) are often reminiscent of classical pictorial genres such as landscapes or portraits. However, they exhibit almost abstract states, which put the viewer in an association spectrum of manifold interpretive possibilities and spatial experiences. Shown are recent work that, due to a longer work stay in Tokyo, deal with the subject of the mirror. The mirror appears in Japanese art up to today's manga culture in various contexts as an oval or round shape there again and again.
Jeremy Holmes (* 1984 Cooperstown, USA) is concerned with the perception of space and its transformation through his sculptures, which he understands as three-dimensional line drawings. These can be relatively handy works or large-scale installations of more than 300 m of curved "wooden bands", as can be seen in the DEZ Regensburg or very recently at the pacific Design centre in Hollywood. http://www.pacificdesigncenter.com/event/designlab/
