Galerie Knoell, Basel Art Cologne 2019
Galerie Knoell is exhibiting for the first time at Art Cologne 2019. At the booth A35 you will discover modern and contemporary art, among them works by artists such as Max Bill, Georg Baselitz, Giorgio de Chirico, Per Kirkeby, Raimund Girke and Hans Arp.
At Art Cologne 2019, to mark the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Bauhaus in 1919, Galerie Knoell will exhibit masterpieces by artists who are known for their associations with the Bauhaus.
Amongst works by other important modern and contemporary artists, Galerie Knoell will show works by Bauhaus alumni Max Bill (Swiss, 1908-1994) and teacher Josef Albers (German-American, 1888-1976) and the Bauhaus contemporaries Georges Vantongerloo (Belgian, 1886-1965) and Hans Arp (German-French, 1886-1966).
Galerie Knoell’s presentation at Art Cologne 2019 will include a diverse body of works that explore the evolution of ideas and principles that were initially developed from within the Bauhaus, highlighting the lasting influence of the school upon the working lives of its alumni, teachers and associates, and even inviting the viewer to consider its impact across the entirety of Western 20th Century contemporary art.
