Gregory and Cyril Chapuisat, born respectively in 1972 in New York (USA) and in 1976 in Bienne (CH). Live and work “in situ.” Gregory graduated from the Art Center College of Design, Pasadena (USA) and Cyril from Kingston University, London (UK). They build complex environmental works, notably taking the form of labyrinths, tunnels, burrows, cavities, mountains or spheres, that the spectator discovers in every position, often in the shade, even in complete darkness. Concurrently with this monumental installations they develop a experimental artistical langage often links to architecture, shape’s exploration and space. The artists have notably exhibited at the Neutra VDL House of Los Angeles (USA, 2017), at the Villa Merkel of Esslingen (DE, 2015), at the Maubuisson Abbaye of Saint-Ouen-l’Aumône, at the Song Eun Art Space of Seoul (KR, 2012), at the Centre Culturel Suisse of Paris (FR, 2011), at the CAN of Neuchâtel (CH, 2010), at the LISTE Art Fair Basel (CH, 2010) and at the FIAC in the Tuileries gardens (2009 & 2014). They participated into the Swiss Art Awards in 2006 and 2009 during Artbasel.
