Galerie Maria Wettergren specializes in twenty-first century Scandinavian design of limited-edition furniture, lighting and art objects. The
main interest of the gallery is the experimental design born of our present time, which opens up future perspectives while keeping in mind the experience of the past. New
ideas, technologies and materials
are combined with the Scandinavian tradition of excellent craftsmanship, giving rise to sculptural and poetic design objects with multiple purposes. The gallery is promoting both established designers and emerging talents from the new Nordic design scene through gallery editions, exhibitions and fairs.
The gallery exhibits and produces pieces by pioneering Scandinavian designers from the past 20 years such as Mathias Bengtsson, Astrid Krogh, Ditte Hammerstroem, Cecilie Manz, Niels Hvass, Rasmus Fenhann, Erling Christoffersen, Line Depping, Jakob Joergensen, Hans Sandgren Jakobsen, Harri Koskinen, Ilkka Suppanen, Timo Salli, Mikko Paakkanen, GamFratesi and Tora Urup.
