An encounter between painting and sculpture - an encounter between Sue Paraskeva and Gila Stolzenfuß.
Using traditional porcelain techniques, Sue Paraskeva creates delicately twisted vessels. Changes and coincidences occur, which are to be understood as an extended commentary on domestic relationships as well as an exploration of the damaged or healed human mind and body. The vascular character is abolished in favour of a new plastic statement.
Their intimate formal language has its own physical and emotional gestures. The most recent works are installations that make reference to the weight and dimensions of different parts of the body.
The painting of Gila Stolzenfuß is in motion. And hesitantly she succeeds in grasping the magic of formlessness: lustful, anarchic, impulsive, powerful.
Layer by layer she changes the surface, paints over, deletes, irritates and gives something new a habitat. She expands this space through language, word creations, facial expressions, gestures and sounds into a performative experience.
Painting, poetry and performance meet and penetrate each other.
