Galerie The Artist is proud to present “Walls” the new series of paintings by French artist Frederic Thomas. Street art transforms public spaces into open-air galleries, adding vibrancy to urban landscapes. But using the city as a canvas often means these artworks are here today, gone tomorrow...With his vibrant paintings, Frederic Thomas invites Street Art to your daily life, preserving the ephemeral spirit and allowing urban art to transcend the walls, be transported to your walls and live on.
Frederic lives through his works, always testing and pushing, engaging by what he cares about. His surfaces are the result of intense explorations filled with passion. He is an avid believer in the power left behind through brushstrokes, his color, his relentless scrapping and his adding of layers and layers of paint. This intensity is always a part of his persona, and his paintings are absolutely an extension of his personality and his difficult questioning ...about everything.
Life is his subject ... nothing less."
"These works on canvas are a departure from my abstract paintings. The body of work is based on my childhood memories. My interactions with my friends and the promiscuity of wild, raw landscapes with the Atlantic Ocean provided me with a wealth of subject matter.”
Galerie The Artist was founded out of passion by an artist herself. Its plan is to make art accessible to all by organizing solo exhibitions and art fairs and to be able to continue the tradition of presenting emerging and established artists while focusing on developing the community around them.
In addition, Galerie The Artist is developing the “Art for Healing Project” in partnership with The Rotary International Foundation. The gallery will dedicate some of its proceeds to raise money and actively develop Art Therapy centers, buying equipment and utensils, trying to help overcome the difficulties and atrocities the children have witnessed through the Power of Art, and help nurture the hearts and souls of little artists within hospitals or refugee camps.
Galerie The Artist is proud to present an eclectic variety of international artists.
