Bastian Ogel frees his figures from Western categories being at the source of a certain fear of hybridity. Emancipating themselves from their origins, the motifs follow one another and become subjects of a lively wandering, finally becoming preys of a dance on the border between reality and thought, between abstraction and figuration. It is in his dense and colorful compositions that the brush strokes give to read the emotions and their expenses. Painting becomes an emotional experience. Personal mythology or reflections of our consumed faces, the figures of Ogel weaken our schematics.
