In its will to combine contemporary art projects with fashion, as well as it developed the previous eccentric exhibitions in the Atelier, Les Copains continues to encourage new synergies through the constant promotion of the exhibition activity.
The term Freestyle is borrowed from the hip hop music culture and, in its phrasing, it stands for a discipline that in an unstructured but almost improvised way, moves through assonances. Similarly, the exhibition arises from recurrent assonances among relevant themes and inedited iconographies. Through different painting, sculpting and photographic techniques which decorate critically and aesthetically the society, in its multiple and dystopian aspects, Freestyle plays on unusual visual overlaps and with a partial metric of the image: in this way the exhibition manages to generate a total vision of the identity of our contemporary ages. As in a reprogrammed rhythmic kaleidoscope, in the show there are artworks which, in their singular and specific languages, exhibit reconfigured objects, visionary paintings, perceptual architectures, still lives, conceptual posters, elaborated digital images, findings of unnatural history, radical sights, historical re-readings, unveiled street images, which all tend to restore the sense of our contemporary living.
