“My Grain” was the second solo show of Jason Middlebrook, an artist born in Jackson, Michigan in 1966 and based in Hudson, NY. The artist exhibited a selection of planks and wall works in wood painted, produced between 2012 and 2016.
Finally the incredible happened, Galleria PACK proposes an artist whose work is abstract geometric! On the occasion of the next opening of SPAZIO 22 exhibitions, Galleria PACK is pleased to present “My Grain”, the second solo show of Jason Middlebrook, born in Jackson, Michigan in 1966 and who lives and works in Hudson, NY. The artist exhibits a selection of planks and wall works in wood painted, produced between 2012 and 2016. This exhibition claims the return of Jason Middlebrook, after eleven years, to Galleria PACK; we find out apparently a different artist, but if we look deeper it won’t be difficult to recognize that same talent we’ve met some time ago, during the legendary SEASON. The work of Jason Middlebrook is a matter of skin, the one that he paints on planks, dictated/imposed by the grain and the shape of wood, in front of it. Ten years ago the artist began this path of dialogue with Nature, sometimes in reaction to it and other times giving an interpretation of it, but always inside it’s boundaries. Welcome back Jason.
