Gallery Mariam : Speed & Aim
When you are an artist, you have too many obstacles to overcome inorder for your work to be seen and your visual expression to be shared with others.
Many really talented artists give up when over whelmed with writing bios, taking good pictures, finding gallery representation, doing self promotions and constant social media ends up eating away at their art.
This artist decided it was important to gain aim to the bottom line, to catch up with this fast pace, technologically driven contemporary art world. To wait for representation was out of the question. Bills needed to be paid, art needed to be expressed. She put aside tradional paths to get gallery representation and sought out studio spaces, sponsors, collectors and started her own self promotion through live art, lots of give aways, auctions, live art during festivals, and ofcourse social media (as best as she could). Day and night of organising art events, social feeds about art and expression, she started to gain momentum and even self motivation started to pay off, so she could continue creating.
With « Art has no rules » as her philosophy, she was quickly able to flip her studio into an art gallery and start a career path she only dreamt of. As life is a spontanious course of events and oppertunities, her work reflected that same heart beat, mixed with traditional techniques. Yet this self taught painter never took a lesson.
She put her best foot forward so she could express her self, she self taught even some tricks to social feeds, and took aim, with speed. During this phase of her climb in her life, these are some of the oil paintings she created. Enjoy the pop ups, and the exclusives to come. The artist hopes it will open opertunities for others who are creative and she will continue to be able to live an expressive life style because art is life and life is an art.
The exhibit will be up only on weekends and only 2 paintings will be exhibited per weekend.
The paintings will be exhibited at the Gallery Mariam within an on going group show of local artists from Edmonton, Canada. So you can expect to see art work by other local artists pop up there as well. This exhibit is also directed and curated by Mariam Qureshi. She hopes to keep you inspired.
