VIENNAFAIR The New Contemporary – Connecting art and people in a new way
From October 10 to 13, 2013, VIENNAFAIR The New Contemporary will highlight the innovative power of the Eastern and Southeastern European art and gallery scene in its main focus presentations. In combination
The unique mix of international galleries will create an ideal context for a stimulating exchange of artistic approaches and the development of new markets. In addition to already established positions, a broad range of young and upcoming galleries—especially from the Eastern and Southeastern European focus regions—will participate in VIENNAFAIR The New Contemporary. In 2013 VIENNAFAIR The New Contemporary establishes a new network that completely redefines the notion of “East meets West” and offers art collectors, curators, and museum directors as well as people interested in art from all age groups an interesting platform for discussion, talks, performances, and participatory activities.
VIENNAFAIR The New Contemporary gives cultural institutions from Georgia, Kazakhstan, and Ukraine a forum for international contacts and the presentation of their program. The special project “DIYALOG”: New Energies will introduce current developments of young art institutions in Romania, Turkey, and the Caspian region. The photographer and curator Gaisha Madanova from Almaty, Kazakhstan and the artistic directors of VIENNAFAIR The New Contemporary, Christina Steinbrecher-Pfandt and Vita Zaman, curate this program in cooperation with OMV.
