Gana Art will host All My Little Miscellany starting from August 31st, 2018.
This exhibition will display a collection of Korean folk arts from the past which has been collected by an antique collector, HeeJu Im(1938-). The collection features over the 200 items including ink stone, hair-band case for a man, brush case, ink container, wrapping cloth, jewelry box, and wooden box. HeeJu Im started her career as a lecturer at Ewha Womans University in the 1970s, and that was when she started collecting antiques. She was concerned that the rapid westernization of Korean society caused many people to regard old things as useless. This concern led her to Ahyun street, where she started collecting all sorts of inexpensive antiques. That collection is now so extensive that this exhibition has been organized to showcase them. This exhibition brings together Ms. Im’s passion and sensibility through her lifetime of work to provide visitors a chance to experience and understand the value of old things.
