Gandy gallery is pleased to announce its participation at ARCO Madrid 2018 with the exhibition project entitled "Try to describe the colour of pure (still) water, my dear.’: An Ontology between Abstract and Concrete.” presenting two Slovak artists - Denisa Lehocká and Boris Ondreička.
The project for the curated section “Dialogues” wants to continue the cooperation between Denisa Lehocká and Boris Ondreička firstly presented at Badischer Kunstverein in more concentrated conversational mode. It aims to expose the bothsided translational flux between the ‘visual-abstract, drawing-sculpture’ and the ‘visual-concrete, verbal-text’, the bothsided translational flux of two different ontologies of the shared everyday partnership, love and living. While Lehocká exposes tacit and intuitional methods and tactics of perception, understanding and expression (installations, objects, paintings and drawings), Ondreička works with explicit languages, semantics, semiotics, rhetorics (text-based and image-archive-based projections, prints and performances). Nevertheless, they both deal with the poetics. The “concrete” refers both to explicit as well as to the legacy “the concrete poetry”. The project considers to present new works, specially made for the “Dialogues”. In both cases we can speak about media of mind-mapping which (holistically, syneasthetically) negates the division of psycho-soma, material- immaterial, living-nonliving, ethics-aesthetics, new-old... As the title indicates: the subject of this dialogical situation is the relation, the cooperation of diverse cognitive, sensual... methods in direction of description of the plasticity of identity and truth—the common living.
