The Gender Show

The Gender Show offers a visual history of the various ways in which male and female roles have been explored and presented: stereotypes, innocent assertions, light-hearted playacting, or elaborate masquerades. A collection (covering 170 years) allows for thoughtful examination of the changing cultural and social landscape over generations. The exhibition includes work by Robert Frank, Mary Ellen Mark, Julia Margaret Cameron, and Edward Steichen. Traveling Exhibition, available Fall 2013 – more information at eastmanhouse.org
