Wynwood Walls, the famed epicenter of the Wynwood Arts District known worldwide for its groundbreaking ever-changing collection of privately curated street art, has announced
the theme of “Beyond Words” and the debut of 9 new installations for Art Basel Miami Art Week.
Beyond Words speaks to the transformation of street art, and how it has evolved from using words and
tagging artist names to expression via imagery, and the cultural impact of what has now become a
powerful artistic movement.
“Art Basel Miami is an opportunity to showcase visionary works from a diverse group of world-class artists
that provide millions of Wynwood visitors, with a unique, global perspective. We choose a theme each
year to reflect what we want to say to this international audience. Beyond Words is a highly relevant
message, the beauty and power of Art is that it has a way of communicating far beyond language, it is
beyond words,” Goldman Srebnick says.
Artists that will take part in Wynwood Walls’ Art Basel Program include: AShop Crew (Canda), DEIH
(Spain), KOBRA (Brazil), Martin Whatson (Norway), Queen Andrea (USA), Ron English (USA),
Tomokazu Matsuyama (Japan), VHILS (Portugal) and JonOne (USA).
GGA Gallery will feature original works by each of the new participating artists, and Wynwood
Walls alumni; expanding the gallery’s diverse collection.
