Michele Byrne is recognized for her figurative plein air work and in recent years for her dynamic palette knife paintings. She travels extensively, painting in Manhattan, Paris, California, Colorado, and Key West. Bryne has won numerous awards including most recently an Award of Excellence with the Rocky Mountain Plein Air Painters.
“I prefer to paint outdoors directly on site. The plein air paintings are meant to be mirrors of our lives. There is something magical and mystical about standing with your feet firmly planted on the earth, absorbing all the sounds, smells and conversations, as well as the visual information and letting it all flow out onto the canvas. I become part of the scene and the paintings seem to flow out of me,” states the artist.
Mariyah Sultan is a New York artist with studios in New York and North Carolina. With unabashed freedom, Sultan incorporates brilliant splashes of rich color, flat planes, the subtle variance of textured grays, small elegant childlike lines that read as a language, a forceful linear structure, and the beauty of the female anatomy as the elemental potency of her paintings. Her work has been exhibited at Art Basel and can be seen on HBO’s “Ballers”, Nickelodeon, and the CBS/Warner Brothers television show ‘Valor”. She has won numerous awards, including winning the Best of the Art Students League of New York twice. Presently, Mariyah is serving as the Curator of Art for the CBS Corporation.
