Back to Boy meets Girl at GNYP Gallery
About
Statement
The exhibition features the recent works of two artists who at first glance cannot be more different: the 81year-old British girl Rose Wylie and the 31year-old American boy Zachary Armstrong, who however use a similar visual language that allows an exciting artistic conversation.

Talk by historian and curator Prof. Lynda Morris
Fri, Oct 30, 2015 at 7:30pm – Tue, Oct 6, 2015 at 8:30pm UTC
Prof. Lynda Morris will talk about the influence of David Bomberg on British painting that Rose Wylie and her late husband Roy Oxlade developed from. Bomberg, like a number of artists from the group that R.B. Kitaj called The School of London in 1976, came from Polish and German emigre families. She will go on to talk about the relevance of Wylie’s skills as a figurative painter on the young generation of artists, including Zachary Armstrong.
