Hans Alf Gallery presents a solo with Erik A. Frandsen, who in Denmark has been a proverbial benchmark for ingenuity and artistic audacity since the early 80's. The exhibit will feature oil-on-canvas still lifes, engraved steel mirrors and a custom made, multicolored floor.
Erik A. Frandsen has had solos in practically every Danish Museum plus a handful of international; he has done commissions for the Danish Parliament, the Royal Palace and numerous corporations across the globe, and his works are held in all major Danish collections - private as well as public.
Still his brilliance is largely unknown to a wider, European audience.
The main aim of our presentation at Market Art Fair 2017 is to reintroduce Erik A. Frandsen to the world.
Over the years Hans Alf Gallery has done a variety of commercial fairs, and our desire to do something different, less profit-driven has grown accordingly. Thus, we aim to present a booth that focuses on the aesthetical vision rather than the individual piece as a commodity; an installation or a totality, if you will.
Our presentation will combine large engraved steel mirrors, soft impasto still lifes and a custom-made floor of multi-colored tiles. To complete the installation, our booth will be fitted with exclusive and iconic furniture by Danish design icon Hans J. Wegner.
