HAZA Presents Maggie Hayes: Coming Up For Air
Savannah, GA -- HAZA, a contemporary art gallery, presents an exhibit with artist Maggie Hayes located at 7 Rathborne Drive from Saturday, June 30 through July 28. The exhibition will include large scale paintings, site-specific installation, sculpture, and video installation.
Based out of Brooklyn, NY and originally from Atlanta, Ga., Hayes credits her time in Savannah with forming her into the artist and woman she is today. She has never taken a painting class but is most recognized for her oversized paintings, with bold brushstrokes often capturing the figure in motion. Her art education focused on sculpture and 3D design, which is reflected in life-size clay sculptures and repurposed objects used in her work, such as boxing gloves and Mylar™ balloons.
Hayes is also a certified yoga and breathwork instructor, with a background in competitive swimming, which started her lifelong passion of movement, exploration, and healing.
An invitation-only VIP preview with artist talk will take place on Friday, June 29 from 6-9 p.m. Public reception will take place on Saturday, June 30 from 6-9 p.m., catering provided.
Private viewings available by appointment.
HAZA is owned and curated by Christina Maria Zanetti, who desires to work with artists whose work she’s passionate about as well as inspired by their personal character and vision for humanity. The mission of HAZA is to encourage an appreciation and understanding of contemporary art, creating a safe space to exercise curiosity about art and engage with artists who have a vision, a story, and a connection with the human experience.
