Presentation of the Henze & Ketterer Gallery at ART COLOGNE 2019
At ART COLOGNE 2019, Galerie Henze & Ketterer will be presenting a thematic presentation specially conceived for this fair under the topic "Rhythm, dance and music". The focus of the presentation will be on the works by Ernst Ludwig Kirchner and his "Brücke" colleagues, for whom music halls, dance, theater and circus were an important source of inspiration.
A masterpiece by Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, which you can see at our stand, is a painting of a singer on a piano, where sound rises both from the mouth and from the keyboard. This work is accompanied by drawings of violinists by Kirchner and drawings and graphics by dancers and acrobats by Kirchner, Erich Heckel, Emil Nolde and Hermann Max Pechstein.
A second focus of our presentation is the painting "Our house - House in Davos-Wiesen" by Kirchner and other scenic depictions i. a. by Erich Heckel and Bernard Schultze.
In addition, you can see works of abstraction at our stand, i. a. by Heinz Mack and the Bauhaus student Fritz Winter, as well as works by the contemporary artist Georg Baselitz, with a large linocut and other graphic works from the Hokusai series, as well as paintings by Darío Basso and Pizzi Cannella. Sculptures by Daniel Spoerri, individual works from the group "Guerrieri della notte", will complete our presentation.
The period of the works spans from 1907 to 2017.
