Hohmann presents rare paintings from the estate of Robert Freimark (1922-2010), a Silicon Valley icon, who lived there from 1964 until he passed away. The gallery also features new sculptures by jd hansen and Julian Voss-Andreae.
Hohmann Fine Art is pleased to announce participation in the 2015 Art Silicon Valley/San Francisco Fine Art Fair, October 8 -11, 2015.
The gallery will feature a presentation of rare large canvases by the late Robert Freimark (1922-2010), who lived most of his life in the Silicon Valley. With hundreds of museum shows and permanent collections he was one of only a handful true abstract expressionists on the West Coast.
The gallery recently signed the estate and the presentation at Art Silicon Valley will include some of the highlights of the successful gallery exhibition that took place in April this year. A local legend, Freimark was exhibited all over the world and this presentation is the first exhibition of his work in his home area in many years.
The highly successful sculptor jd hansen will be represented with two of her most recent major works “Valley of the Sunrise” and “Barrier Meditation”. Hansen is pushing the limits of bronze sculpture in many ways. Her new cycle of works, which premiered at Hohmann Fine Art in its entirety on February 26th, 2015, has elevated her to a new level.
“Valley of the Sunrise” is a life-size horse, cast in bronze with a blanket of copper wire that has been bent by hand into cursive writing representing poetry. The impact of the sculpture can only be experienced in person and with the interest and attention this new work is receiving, it may very well be the only opportunity to be viewed in public.
