SELECTED EDITORIAL WORKS 2014-2016
Lucian Bor, born in 1980 in Zurich, Switzerland, his father an artist and his mother an art historian, both of czech descent. In juvenile rebellion against his parents' example, Bor at first avoided the arts and seeked professional fulfillment in other fields. After discovering photography rather by chance, it became his passion instantly. At the age of 29, he decided to move to Paris and devote himself to photography, assisting other photograpers in order to learn the craft. Own works for renowned magazines followed shortly, including the likes of Vogue, Elle, and Harper's Bazaar. Lucian Bor lives and works in Paris.
EPHEMERE ETERNEL is a selection of editorial works by the artist between 2014 and 2016. The female body is always central to the artist's works. While it inspires to dream In fashion photography, the dream comes with commercial intent. In his artistic works, the artist strives for a commercially untouched continuation of the original dream in its pure aesthetic. The exhibition title draws reference to the discrepancy of the short-lived world of fashion ("éphémère") and the timeless aesthetic of the female body ("éternel").
Selected pieces from the exhibition have been chosen by the Club des Directeurs Artistiques to be exhibited at its temporary space at the occasion of Rencontres d'Arles in July 2016.
