"Vertical Eye" is part of "Italian Interior" research by Giulio Limongelli. His attraction for the challenging energy of architectural round stairs evolved in an odd series of images where the subjects seems sometimes to ingest your gaze and energy, with a strong dynamics and composition.
Giulio Limongelli can be qualified as a 'Master of the Workshop', to underline his background as a 360 degrees Artisan as a photographer as well as printer. Born in 1963 and graduating in 1985 at the Liceo Scientifico he has been a professional photographer since that very same day. He is very active in both shooting and printing and color as well as black and white. He also teaches photography in local accredited schools. After moving to Bologna in 1996, where he still lives and runs a successful shop, he works as a freelancer as well as a creative mind. The genre most practiced by Giulio is the natural and urban landscape, minimalism and instant print photography. All the artwork are printed with silver gelatin paper in the darkroom by the artist himself following his personal process.
Limongelli showcased his work in individual as well as collective exhibits in London, Rome, Milan... and in Brescia at Nazional Museum of Photography, where some of his artworks are kept in the archive. He also was a speaker at the meeting "The dark room in step with the times", promoted by Afip international at the Triennale Museum in Milan on May 25, 2016. During these years, many trade magazines have dealt with his artistic activity.
