PHILADELPHIA—Curated by InLiquid at Jed Williams Gallery, Wanderings is an exhibition of playful abstract paintings and photography. Finding inspiration through the study of movement: traveling, walking, or the act of creating; the work contains an experimental, meandering logic with an immediate, visceral appeal. Featuring the artists: Kit Donnelly, Deborah Leavy, and Jessica Joy London.
Kit Donnelly has exhibited in many parts of the New England area and had artist-residences at Vermont Artist Week Residency, Vermont Studio Center and Worchester Arts Magnet School. She earned an MFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
Deborah Leavy has exhibited in both Philadelphia and Greater Philadelphia area. She was the first place winner of the Expressions of Radnor award at Wayne Art Center (Wayne, PA). She is a current student at Main Line Art Center (Haverford, PA)
Jessica Joy London has exhibited in the United States and internationally, including the Grand Rapids Art Museum, Urban Institute of Contemporary Art, Artcomplex Center of Tokyo (Japan), the Smithsonian’s S. Dillon Ripley Center and the Kennedy Center’s Hall of States (Washington, D.C.), and the Tampa Museum of Art. Currently, she is working out of her studio at the Crane Arts building. She is currently an MFA candidate at University of Michigan Stamps School of Art & Design.
Named one of the top art galleries in Bella Vista and Queen Village by Philadelphia Magazine (March 2015), and recently featured (April 2016) in an article by Edith Newhall on philly.com, Jed Williams Gallery is a unique art space owned and operated since 2010 by artist Jed Williams. JWG showcases up-and-coming and inspiring artists from the Philadelphia area. Artists featured are from all backgrounds including classically trained as well as self-taught outsider artists. The gallery shows a variety of thoughtful, cutting edge high quality works ranging from 2D, mixed media and painting, to video, installation and sculpture.
InLiquid mobilizes and makes accessible the visual arts culture of the greater Philadelphia region in order to unite communities, establish wider audiences for artists and designers, facilitate the relationship between artists and collectors, and nurture the public’s appreciation of all forms of visual art.
InLiquid is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to creating opportunities and exposure for visual artists while serving as a free, online, public hub that showcases Philadelphia’s vast visual arts culture.
Through the active promotion of artists’ work and credentials via online accessibility, numerous ongoing exhibition programs distributed throughout the city in galleries and alternative spaces, meaningful partnerships with cultural organizations and corporate clients, unique community-engaged events, and the facilitation of relationships with art collectors, InLiquid delivers the richness of our region’s visual art culture to broader audiences, thus increasing appreciation of all forms of visual culture.
InLiquid envisions a future Philadelphia where the visual art culture is so deeply integrated with the community that everyone can be a collector, regardless of socioeconomic position, profession, and location.
