Monumental is an exhibit of large scale work that celebrates JAYJAY’s stable of modern and contemporary artists, including some artists new to JAYJAY. Many of these scholars frequently work in very large formats, but have limited opportunity to exhibit these efforts. Monumental
When confronted with works that are larger than the viewer there is a unique experience that is created. Observation is at the forefront; however in this setting the entire body becomes engaged. The viewer navigates the space and coexists with works that become their environment. There is a reconciliation that occurs between the work and the observer as they are able to enter into something that has a presence that captivates, and absorbs their entirety. Exhibiting Artists: Suzanne Adan, Roger Berry, Trent Burkett, Mark Emerson, Stephen Giannetti, Anne Gregory, Ian Harvey, Robin Hill, Kevin Keul, Michaele Le Compte, Peter Wayne Lewis, Jeff Mayry, Joan Moment, Robert Ortbal, Rick Siggins, Koo Kyung Sook, and Mike Stevens.
