We are pleased to present Yu-ichi Inoue's one of the most important piece, "ah Yokokawa Kokomin Gakko, which was the poem by Inoue about the Great Tokyo Air Raids in 1945. Also the carpet and the brush he used to use for his creation are exhibited.

March in Tokyo, it is special moment in a year. 10th of March was the time when Tokyo was burnt ruins, because of Great Tokyo Air Raids in WW2. It was a tragedy just 70 years ago, but the cause for one guy, Yuichi Inoue, decided to stand up again with the brushes and papers.
Kamiya art in March is pleased to present the most important piece from the artist Yuichi Inoue, "Ah Yokokawa Kokumin Gakko!". Also the carpet, brushes and papers he used are on view. He was at the Yokokawa Kokumin Gakko when the tragedy happened as a school teacher, and he was a one of the victims. Fortunately or unfortunately, he had survived. This experience had made him thought he had to write down what he saw. It took for him 33 years to actually write about the war, since it was too much emotional for him. He could finally, 7 years before he passed away, make one of the masterpiece in his age of 61. At that time he realized that he had a serious problem in his health.
It is a good time every year in March in Tokyo that to think of the history through the masterpiece. We hope the people who see the works will feel something.
