We're pleased to present an online exhibition of original drawings from "Fantastic Sagas" - a comic book adventure project conceived by artist Robert Pruitt and writer + graphic novelist Mat Johnson. Inspired by Pruitt’s large-scale figurative works, Johnson developed a sci-fi narrative set in a Black, matriarchal universe. Together, the duo uses the comic form to explore themes of power, cultural legitimacy, and representation—deliberately reimagining the genre by shifting its lens away from whiteness and masculinity. …
