The exhibition-as-opera Angst (10.6.–21.8.2016) by Anne Imhof (b. 1978) is comprised of sculptural, painterly, musical, and performative elements that will be variously activated or still. Over the first ten days of her show, the artist stages its progressive unfolding and the appearance of its different characters, with names such as the Lover, the Spitter, or the Diver. Their choreographed movements and cryptic gestures add a narrative layer to the sculptural scenography that forms the basis of her exhibition.
On Wednesday, June 15, 2016, from 7 pm to midnight, Angst reaches an epic pinnacle with Act I, spread over fivehours and featuring all of its characters, including live falcons.
