Tell me what you show, I'll tell you who you are ...
For its opening in Brussels in February 2016, Gallery La Forest Divonne brought together the 17 artists it reprensents, in a group exhibition entitled Passion partagée. A passion for their works the gallery wants to share and spread as widely as possible, in Belgium and beyond.
Since then, the gallery has presented 6 exhibitions, including Project Room # 1: Anthropologies, which marked the launch of a new exciting program dedicated to young artists. As of 2017, a jury of Belgian and French collectors will grant an annual "Project Room Prize".
The exhibition "1 an déjà !", which will mark the first anniversary of the gallery, will take us back through the first year of programmation by displaying the five artists who have had a personal exhibition since the opening. As well as displaying the singularity of their respective works, this show will bring to light what the first months reveal of the line of the gallery. A line that promotes authenticity, singularity and rigor of the artistic paths, always giving priority to the encounter with the artwork.
"What's most important to us is the encounter between the public and the artwork. We favor emotion, sensation and perception over commentary and discourses, which - in our mind- should always come second", explains Jean de Malherbe.
The exhibition 1 an déjà! will be the occasion to discover or rediscover the works of Arthur Aillaud, Jean-Bernard Métais, Guy de Malherbe, Vincent Bioulès and Bernadette Chéné, through a small number of works specially selected by the gallery owners.
