August 24th - September 13th: The 14th annual National Jewellery Student Competition
The 2017 winner will be announced at the exhibition opening on Thursday, August 24th, 5-7 pm, at 13 Murray St., ByWard Market.
The 2017 finalists for the 14th annual National Jewellery Student Competition are: Ho Ching Chan, NSCAD (Nova Scotia College of Art and Design); Clarissa Long, NSCAD ; Eunson Park, NSCAD; Laura Sasseville, EJM (Ecole de Joaillerie de Montreal), and Louis-Vincent Parent, EJM. The finalists were selected from degree-granting institutions across Canada based on technical excellence, ingenuity, and strength of creative vision. Most, if not all of the students will be present for the Opening; the Announcement of the winner of the Competition will take place at 6 p.m.
We are very grateful for the support of this year's esteemed international jury which includes:
Barbara Isherwood, Masters in Art History from the University of Toronto, where she currently teaches (Continuing Education) and whose writing has been published in Canadian Art, Border Crossings, FiberArts, Metalsmith, Studio, Raw Vision and more;
Anna Lindsay MacDonald, metalsmith and part-time OCAD Jewellery Instructor; BFA NSCAD and MFA from SAIC, the School of Art Institute of Chicago;
and Kristina Parsons, who works at the Architecture & Design Department at MoMA under Paola Antonelli, graduate of Parsons The New School with an MA in Design History and Curatorial Studies, following undergraduate studies in Art History at Columbia University.
