"My objective for the portraits in this period was to paint individuals that were widely recognizable. I chose this particular group (with the exception of the subject of "Yellowcake") due to each of them being frequently the topic of cable news shows at that time. It was as much a test of my skill as anything else. However, as is so often the case in our current times, their associated personas created by the cable news shows, depending on the network's incentives, ranged from angelic to villainous.
